Dr Sarah Hancock
Dr Sarah Hancock is a Senior Postdoctoral Scientist at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and a Conjoint Fellow at UNSW Sydney. Her research focuses on lipid metabolism in cancer, with a particular emphasis on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. She uses advanced lipidomics and mass spectrometry approaches to investigate metabolic pathways associated with tumour progression and response to therapy, with the goal of identifying clinically relevant biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Sarah has a strong track record in competitive research funding, including as a Chief Investigator on a Cancer Council NSW Project Grant. Her work spans method development, analysis of patient‑derived samples, and experimental cancer models, and she collaborates widely on translational research projects. She also contributes to the scientific community through conference leadership, professional society service, and mentoring of students and early‑career researchers.
